Heavy Traffic Expected Around Cannon Valley Fair This Morning
If you are heading to the Cannon Falls area this morning/early afternoon you might run into a bit of a traffic jam between 10am and noon as there is an Easter Cruise expected to take place around the Cannon Valley Fairgrounds.
According to a post by the Cannon Falls Police Department, the area around the Cannon Valley Fairgrounds may see higher levels of traffic, and if you can possibly avoid the area as to not contribute to the number of cars in the area.
The Cannon Falls Chamber of Commerce is the group behind the Easter Cruise. Some advice from the chamber if you are going to participate would be to "come to the Cannon Valley Fairgrounds from the north and cross the 9th St Bridge. The North Entrance will be well marked with arrows. It will be safest if we don't have to cross 9th St to get into the fairgrounds."
In addition to the cruise, there will be a 'bunny hunt' where participants are being asked to keep an eye out for bunnies along the route. Anyone with a correct guess as to how many bunnies there were will get a prize.
In addition to being something new and different this year, there is also a charitable aspect to the cruise. The Cannon Falls Chamber indicated that "the first stop" inside the fairgrounds cruise will be "the Cannon Falls Food Shelf Donation. Give a donation of non-perishable food or cash, and receive an Easter Flyer of Special Coupons."
