‘Large Brewpub Of The Year’ Award Goes To Minnesota Brewpub
The Great American Beer Festival was all virtual this year thanks to COVID-19, but there were still plenty of awards to be handed out across the nation. One of those awards was for the 'Large Brewpub of the Year' and the recipient of that award is located in the land of 10,000 lakes. This year's winner was none other than Minneapolis' The Freehouse.
To qualify for the award, large brewpubs had to produce over 1,500 barrels of beer in 2019. The Freehouse is located a few blocks from Target Field near the warehouse district in Minneapolis and offers up some food and of course beer. You can check out their menu here.
The Freehouse offers up some award winning beers to go with their "Large Brewpub of the Year" award from the Great American Beer Festival. On top of the brewpub award, the brewpub took home 1 gold medal this year and in total, they have won 4 medals for their beer.
Winning gold this year was their Scotch Ale, two beers won silver in 2017 and those were their Contemporary Gose and Barley-Wine Style Ale. Taking a bronze medal for The Freehouse was their 2018 English Style Brown Ale.
I've never been to this place yet, but after we banish COVID to the Planet Hoth this will be one of my first stops just to try what they are offering. Let me know if you've been by The Freehouse and what you enjoyed, send me a message on the FREE Power 96 app!
