Look Up! Highway 60 In Faribault To Feature ‘Hometown Hero’ Banners

As you make your way along Highway 60 in Faribault, look up at the decorative banners that adorn the roadway, as the Faribault Elk's Club has turned over to the City of Faribault its first edition of Hometown Hero banners that will line Highway 60 around Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.

According to the Faribault Hometown Heroes website the idea was taken for the banners from another community and was started as "a project started by Virginia van Sluis of the Faribault Elks and assisted by Deb Petersen, Commander of the Faribault Chapter of DAV. The idea was then presented to the Chamber of Commerce, Parks & Rec, and Faribault City Council and all organizations welcomed the project for Faribault as a way for citizens of the community to honor their loved ones who served this great country and our own Hometown Heroes."

The banners from the first edition are all featured online on the Faribault Hometown Heroes website and honor quite a few different people and agencies.
