The post from the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities states "A few severe storms are possible tonight across western and central MN. A larger threat will come Friday afternoon with the possibility of tornadoes, very large hail, and damaging winds along a cold front. Storms will weaken as they head into Wisconsin overnight."

The chance for large hail is expected to be in the red dashed area on the above map, hail in that area could be greater than 2" in diameter.

As for tonight, our area is looking like there is the possibility of just some general thunderstorms. Further to the north and west the risk increases for severe weather with the greatest risk this evening being in the Fargo-Detroit Lakes area.

Areas of Minnesota early Monday morning saw large damaging hail, and the southern portion of the storm that affected our area turned into a derecho in Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan.
