For a number of years the University of Minnesota Extension Service has presented Nitrogen Smart trainings throughout Minnesota normally in February and March. The training provides information to farmers on different forms of nitrogen, how they interact in the soil and what can be done to have the nitrogen there when the corn needs it.

Nitrogen Smart is funded by the Minnesota Corn Growers and hosted by the Minnesota Agriculture Water Resources Center. This year in addition to the workshops a new option is available! Now you can complete the Nitrogen Smart training session online. "This interactive training program creates a unique experience for producers based on their own operation and region."

If you would like more information on the Nitrogen Smart Program, attend one of the 3 hour programs this winter or take the online option there is a link on the Minnesota Corn Growers website or The University of Minnesota Extension Service.
