The months are just flying by after what seemed like time had stopped in March, April, and May. By Saturday we will have entered the month of August which traditionally means more county fairs, and of course the Minnesota State Fair. COVID-19 has affected those events, but it can't affect Mother Nature. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, a majority of the Midwest's summer has been dubbed 'Sizzle & Drizzle', and August isn't looking to disappoint. Here is what they are saying to expect weather-wise during August.

August is going to start off right, with sunshine and warm temps from August 1-4, then from August 5-15, we should expect scattered thunderstorms and cooler weather than normal. August 16-23 the Almanac tells us we will experience more isolated thunderstorms with hot weather and then a cooldown. August 24-31 will end the month with showers and cooler weather.

Looking back at the July forecast from the Old Farmer's Almanac I'm beginning to put some stock into this. Here is what they said about July...Sound familiar?

DatesWeather Conditions
Jul 1-7Scattered t-storms, cool
Jul 8-11Sunny, hot
Jul 12-18Scattered t-storms, cool
Jul 19-24Sunny, hot
Jul 25-31T-storms, then sunny, cool

According to that forecast, we've entered more into the drizzle portion of 'Bummer 2020'.

Looking even further into the crystal ball that is the Old Farmer's Almanac September and October look to be "above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation."
