The Owatonna Huskies scored in all but one inning of a six inning 13-3 victory over the Faribault Falcons in Owatonna Tuesday.

Four Faribault pitchers took the mound for the Falcons allowing 12 hits with 9 walks in the game.  Senior Brad Sartor started the game and went the first 1 2/3 innings with 4 hits allowed, 3 runs, 5 walks, 1 strikeout.

Tim Almendinger, Brian Mensing and Henry Schoolmeesters were the other Faribault pitchers.  Each team had just one error in the cold conditions.

The Huskies cranked out 12 hits while Faribault had 8.

The Falcons saw senior Aiden Tobin smack a triple with two hits and a RBi.  Ayden Qualey had 3 hits.  Hunter Nelson had the other RBI in the game.

Owatonna senior Taylor Bogen led them offensively with 3 hits, 5 RBI, Caleb Vereide had 2 hits, Jack Helget 3 hits, 2 RBI.

Owatonna has no roster on their website for baseball and I checked every other boys sport on their website but could find no person listed with the last name of Andrix who was listed as the starting pitcher for the Huskies.

He struck out 4, walked nobody going the first 5 innings with 8 hits and 3 runs allowed.  He threw 73 pitches, 47 for strikes.

It was Owatonna's season opener.  They host Red Wing Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and go to Rochester for a doubleheader Saturday with Century at Mayo Field..

The Falcons (0-2) are at Northfield Thursday and that game is scheduled to be broadcast on KDHL 920 AM, 97.9 FM and on worldwide on KDHL app. with a 4:45 p.m. pre-game and 5:00 p.m. first pitch.
