Earlier today the Scott County Sheriff's Office updated their report on the fatal snowmobile crash from Sunday, March 3rd in Blakeley Township.

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office news release, on March 3, 2019, at approximately 4:27 p.m., Scott County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of a snowmobile crash with injuries at the intersection of 280th Street West (Highway 19) and Lehnert Lane in Blakeley Township.

Deputies responded to the scene where they found that a 2014 Ski-Doo Renegade snowmobile with two riders had collided with a power pole.  Upon investigation, it was found that the snowmobile was traveling eastbound on a marked trail in the north road right-of-way.

42-year-old Jeremy Michael Pumper from Le Sueur, the driver of the snowmobile, suffered fatal injuries.  33-year-old Crystal Jo Olson also from Le Sueur, the passenger, sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur where she died.

Both Pumper and Olson were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.  It is unknown at this time if the driver of the snowmobile was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR, Belle Plaine Fire Department, Belle Plaine Police Department, New Prague Police Department, and Ridgeview Ambulance Services.  The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
