The St. Cloud State University wrestling Huskies captured their third consecutive National Division II Championship over the weekend in St. Louis.  You can see the final team results were very close.

Individually St. Cloud State had just one wrestler win a national title.  Redshirt senior Kameron Teacher of Grove City, Ohio won the 285 pound crown.

Former Faribault Falcon wrestler Brady Wilson is an Assistant Head Coach for the Huskies.  Their Head Coach is Steve Costanzo.

Other area athletes on the team include redshirt junior Garrett Aldrich of Albert Lea.  Nic Cantu is a redshirt freshman from Albert Lea.  Sophomore Robbie Horsman from Kasson.  Redshirt freshman Blake Legred of United South Central High School. Redshirt freshman Grant Parrish  of Kasson.  Redshirt junior Noah Ryan of Mantorville.

  • 165 pounds Devin Fitzpatrick redshirt sr. Mahtomedi, Mn. 3rd
  • 197 pounds Noah Ryan redshirt jr. Mantorville, Mn.  7th

Zumbrota-Mazeppa Head Coach Link Steffen's son Caden is a sophomore at Southwest State University in Marshall, Mn.  He placed 5th at 184 pounds.

SMSU senior Jackson Ryan of Inver Grove Hts, Mn. Simley H.S. was 6th at 197.

Caden's classmate at Z-M Hayden Voxland is also on the team at SMSU and wrestles 174 pounds.

Redshirt freshman from Z-M Tyler Soltau is a 157 pound wrestler at SMSU.  Faribault High School graduate Dillon McEachran is a sophomore who wrestles at 197 and 285.

Luke Peterson is a freshman from Farmington and is slotted at 149 pounds.  From Waseca sophomore Justin Sampson is 141 pounds.

Jesse Nelson is the Head Coach at SMSU.

From Minnesota State Mankato sr. Trenton McManus of Adams, Wis. placed 6th at 125.

Senior Kyle Rathman of Apple Valley finished 7th at 149 pounds.

Redshirt jr. Trevor Turriff of DePere, Wis.  2nd at 174 pounds.

Now that they are national champions they can enjoys some of this food.
