See The Jerry’s Supper Club Building Like You Haven’t Seen It Before!
Talk about a stroll into the past! Work in downtown Owatonna continues with road construction and the building of the new downtown hotel. Also getting some work done is what was known as Jerry's Supper Club in downtown Owatonna. The building which is located at the intersection of Cedar Ave and Vine has been there for many years, but it's been a while since people have seen what the building once looked like under the white siding. Now is your chance!
The Steele County Historical Society recently shared some pictures that were taken of the former supper club building of what is currently taking place. So far we can see that the ground-level white siding has been stripped off and an entrance removed that used to run along Vine according to some photos from Google Maps.
Can you see the metal poles/pillars in the Historical Society social media post? Those are pretty cool to see and sad that they had been covered up for so many years. According to John Packy Cashman, the building before it was Jerry's Supper Club used to be a liquor store. Cashman would have a pretty good idea of that, as he is related to Shea Distribution that ran in Owatonna for many years.
Another feature of Jerry's that has changed, but in location, is the mural that donned one of the walls inside the former supper club. That mural is now located high above the floor inside the Steele County Historical Center for future generations to enjoy.
I can't wait to see what the end product will look like both inside and outside of the former Jerry's Supper Club in downtown Owatonna.
Wow! Check out how Rochester has changed throughout the years in these Google photos.
