These Top Rock Songs From 1980 Turn 40 This Year
It's hard to imaging it's been 40 years since these songs were released. Back in 1980, the Motor Trend Car of the Year was the Chevrolet Citation, the top-grossing movie in theaters was The Empire Strikes Back, and the Pittsburgh Steelers had won the Super Bowl. The Twins that year finished 77-84 good enough for 3rd in the AL West, the Vikings finished 9–7 and lost in the NFC divisional playoffs to the Eagles 31-16, The Golden Gopher football team was in year two of Joe Salem's reign and finished 5–6.
While the sports scene was less than desirable the rock was well...changing a little. Ballads were beginning to become quite popular, but the big names were still there. AC/DC, The Stones, Rush, Queen, and Paul McCartney. The chances were good that you were rocking out to these top songs in 1980, here are some of the top rock songs of 1980 to get you through the rest of the weekend.
Hope you enjoyed this trip back to 1980. Have a great rest of your weekend.
