Vintage Band Festival is August 1-4 in Northfield

Retired St. Olaf College Music Professor Paul Niemisto stops by KDHL today to reveal details about this year's Vintage Band Festival in Northfield.  The event runs August 1-4.

Bands are coming from Germany, Finland and Belgium in addition to other states in the USA and Minnesota bands.  One of the featured Minnesota bands this year is the 34th Infantry Division Band, "The Red Bull Band" which was organized in 1900.

There will be outdoor and indoor performances with the Main Stage on Bridge Square in downtown Northfield.

Headquarters will be located at 19 Bridge Square with hours 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The phone number is 507-581-2360.

Niemisto typically brings some music samples with him so we should hear some terrific band music on today's AM Minnesota program at 9:30 a.m.
