You Could See the Best Meteor Shower of the Year this Friday in Part of Minnesota
This Friday night we could see what AccuWeather Astronomy Blogger Dave Samuhel told KARE 11 is '"arguably the best meteor shower of the entire year.'" It peaks Friday night into Saturday morning.
KARE 11 writes that the American Meteor Society says that there could be "as many as 150 meteors per hour" but "onlookers should tamper their expectations as the shower peaks the night after December's full Cold Moon."
The other unfortunate thing about the timing of this meteor shower is that it could be cloudy Friday evening which would obviously not be good when you want to watch meteors.
If you're interested in trying to check out the meteor shower, KARE 11 has a map from AccuWeather that says most of Minnesota will have poor conditions to view the meteor shower. That is except for the southwest corner of the state. You can see the map HERE.
