Faribault Girl Scouts Visit Radio Station
Once or twice a year, the studios of KDHL and Power 96 become a classroom as we welcome area Scouts excited to learn about the broadcast industry. Last week, members of the area Girl Scouts were on site to explore the building.
Farm Director Jerry Groskruetz spends his days educating KDHL listeners on everything farming and agriculture related, but he attended the U of M for Agriculture Education, so it comes as no surprise that he is a natural at conveying information and engaging a young audience. Jerry took the group on a tour of our building in historic downtown Faribault and explained to them a bit about the radio industry in general, and more specifically what we do. At some point, they always pop into the studio that I am in so they can see live radio first-hand. It's always fun to see their excitement about seeing the behind the scenes and helping answer a few questions. And who knows, maybe we've helped inspire future broadcasters. Thanks to the Girl Scouts for stopping by! And thanks to Jerry for always being willing to take time out of your day to host an educational opportunity!
