Goodhue Turns Turnovers into Points Against Kenyon-Wanamingo
The Goodhue Wildcats spent the last few minutes of the first half turning a one-point lead into a 10-point halftime cushion and never looked back in a 54-36 win against Kenyon-Wanamingo in Goodhue.
I recall saying on the broadcast the Knights were only down by a point with double-digit turnovers.
Goodhue converted three of the last four turnovers into points, led 29-19 at the half and never looked back.
The final points off turnovers tally was 20 for Goodhue, and they committed 14 themselves, but Kenyon-Wanamingo couldn't turn them into points.
The Wildcats were 4 of 9 from the free throw line in the first half, but regained their focus, shooting 11 of 12 in the second half.
Five-foot-11 senior Ryan Alpers led Goodhue's balanced attack with 12 points, and 5-foot-11 senior Jacob Pasch added 11. Both players connected on a couple of threes.
Leading the Knights were 5-foot-8 senior Blake Jacobson and 6-foot-3 senior Ryan Pelkey with 10 points each.
They were our Knights of the night courtesy of Held Bus Service of Kenyon because K-W is looking for more offense.
Goodhue is now 6-2 overall Kenyon-Wanamingo falls to 2-6.
The Goodhue concession stand served delicious philly steak sandwiches with nacho cheese sauce and barbecue chips.
It was so good!
