Northfield Fire Captain Sean Simonson will join us on AM Minnesota Wednesday from Professional Pride Realty in Northfield.

The National Fire Protection Association provides the materials for National Fire Prevention Week and in Northfield firefighters will go to each of the elementary schools to teach fire prevention.

The Kindergarten through third grade students are the target audience.

The Northfield Fire Department will have their fire station open house Thursday.

People are invited to stop by the fire station for the public open house which will include demonstrations, refreshments, and a look at the equipment used to protect Northfield and the surrounding area.

The Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service protects a population of 26,000 over 144 square miles covering Northfield, Dundas and all, or part of, seven surrounding townships. It is a paid-on-call volunteer organization and since September 1, 2014 has been managed through a Joint Powers Agreement.
