Dreams really do come true — provided you dream of sequels to cult comedies about rowdy state troopers. Following a successful crowdfunding campaign (the original studio agreed to let the film happen, but didn’t provide a budget), Super Troopers 2 is a reality, headed to theaters on the surely coincidental date of 4/20 in 2018.

The film reunites the men of Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe that brought you the original Super Troopers along with Club DreadBeerfest, and The Slammin’ Salmon. The sequel is directed by and stars Jay Chandrasekhar as Thorny, one of the Troopers who make up the crew along with fellow Lizards Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, and Kevin Heffernan. Brian Cox also returns for the sequel as their commander, Captain O’Hagen.

This first red-band teaser doesn’t show a lot, other than an elaborate body hair shaving incident. (At one point the plan was actually to make a Super Troopers prequel with the fathers of the original characters, but that didn’t pan out.) The video offers no plot synopsis (“They’re, like, troopers and stuff. It’s all super.”) but it does promise that “You can see the rest of the jokes on 4.20.2018 #ShavetheDate” So there you go. Dreams come true. Become a hit on home video, build up a supportive cult following, endear yourself to stoners with a lot of disposable income on their hands, and truly anything is possible.
