Today, January 18, is a sad day for Eagles fans and fans of classic rock in general. Today is the anniversary of the death of founding member/singer/songwriter Glenn Frey. He passed away one year ago on this day at the Columbia University Medical Center due to complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia while still recovering from gastrointestinal tract surgery...

So far we've lost David Bowie; Gary Loizzo from The American Breed ("Bend Me, Shape Me"); Dale Griffen, drummer for Mott the Hoople; and Glenn Frey, most famously as a founding member of the Eagles as well as a notable solo career...
Glenn Frey's solo career was bound to be overlooked, considering he'd scored a pile of Top 40 hits – including two chart-toppers – as a member of the Eagles.
