The National Weather Service says most of the area can expect temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, which, mixed with the high humidity, will cause heat indices to rise into the upper 90s with some 100-degree readings across the southern part of the state...

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued earlier on Thursday morning for parts of Rice and Steele counties. No damage reports have been received so far from this storm. More heavy thunderstorms are moving through southeastern Minnesota. The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas for southwestern Olmsted County in southeastern Minnesota

Our meteorologists at the Weather Eye Weather Center tell us that over the next 5 days, SE MN will be the the hottest its been in the past 4 years.  Temperatures will surpass 90 degrees, leaving people and pets at severe risk.

Severe storms rumbled through southeast Minnesota again, and a tornado was even reported in Plainview. Luckily, no was was injured. But it got me wondering, why does it seem like tornadoes usually strike mobile homes?

A frost advisory has been issued for Houston and Winona counties. In the immediate area of south-central Minnesota, temperatures are expected to dip a little below freezing and the cloud cover should minimize frost potential but the cold could do damage...
