On a beautiful night at the Snake Pit  in Dodge Center the Triton Cobras faced off against the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars. And it is usually not a pretty picture when Cobras and Cats get together. And it was the final regular season home game for coach Don Henderson who is retiring after 28 years at Triton.

Both teams took a couple of series to move the ball and then later in the 1st Quarter Brady Essig connected with Drew Kelly on a 79 yard play to get the Cobras on the board 6-0 after the extra point attempt failed.

Then the Cobras backed the Cougars up to the 1 yard line. A Cougar penalty resulted in them getting backed up to the half yard line and the Cobra defense stopped them in the end zone for a safety and it was 9-0. Near the end of the 1st Hunter Jennings scored the 1st of 2 touchdowns on the night and it was 22-0 at half.

In the 3rd Essig connected with Nick Roussopoulos and Anthony Avery scored for the Cobras and it was 36-0. And in the closing moments of the game back up quarterback Austin Melder ran 61 yards and the final was 42-0.

Cougar player Tyler Grudem who is a great high school kicker in my opinion and as a future somewhere I think, was our Bridget's Cafe ZM player of the game.

Our McNeilus Steel players for Triton were Brady Essig and Isaak Knutsen.

The Cobras 7-1 will face Cotter on Tuesday night in Dodge Center at 7pm. Zumbrota-Mazeppa (3-5) will go to Pine Island on Tuesday night at 7pm.
