Summer is quickly flying by and most people are trying to soak up every minute of warmth and sunshine, and cross off items from their summer bucket list before the first leaves fall. If you're looking for some great ways to spend the weekend, I've rounded up some area activities you might be interested in.

  • Friday is the Full Belly Soup Kitchen beginning at 5PM at the Cathedral Guild House. A full meal is served.
  • On Saturday, jump start your morning with flowers, baked goods, and locally grown veggies by stopping by the Farmers Market in Central Park starting at 7AM.
  • A pet adoption event will be Saturday from noon to 2PM at the Steele County Human Society in Owatonna.
  • On Saturday, check out the Blooming Prairie Classics and Customs Show from 8AM to 1PM.
  • Another fun weekend idea could be to check out the trails at the River Bend Nature Center in Faribault.
