Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn is Co-Chair of the Faribault Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee and is asking residents to assist the local National Guard.

Troops were activated Monday to assist with the civil unrest in the Twin Cities this week.

Dunn says they could use some donations of food items to snack on during their shifts.

Here are items he says were the most popular or most requested and used:

  • Granola bars
  • Breakfast bars
  • Monster energy drinks
  • Low calorie energy drinks
  • Gatorade
  • Jerky
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pistachios/peanuts

Dunn adds they have cases of water available to them so that is not needed.

The items may be dropped off at the Rice County Sheriff's Office until 9:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021.

They will then be transported to the troops serving in the metro area.

Dunn thanks those who contribute in advance for providing support to local National Guard Troops in their efforts to protect everyone in the metropolitan area.

I felt very old when I read this.
