The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knight baseball and softball teams were kept busy Thursday night during their 18th annual Memorial Field Pasta Supper at the Wanamingo Community Center.  The event was supposed to be held last Saturday but the blizzard forced organizers to move the fundraiser.  Larry Van De Walker told us after paying expenses the event will have a profit of over $3,000.

It's a free will donation cost.  Meaning people give what they want.  Van De Walker says one of the checks for the meal was for $500.  A couple of times during the evening they ran out of food.  I arrived within the last half hour and by then there was no garlic bread and I had a mixture of noodles.  From bow tie to elbow macaroni noodles. There were just a couple of desserts left.  Ryan Holmes says every noodle at the Area 57 Cafe was used for the meal.

The line went outside the door and down the sidewalk in front of the Wanamingo Community Center.  The money raised will be used for more improvements at the baseball and softball fields used by the Kenyon-Wanamingo softball and baseball teams.

Players serve the food and said they are eager to get their seasons underway.  The softball team has not had a game and the baseball team played in Cannon Falls last Thursday in their only game thus far this season.

Van De Walker  was pleasantly surprised at the record turnout because the event had been moved but theorized people have cabin fever and just want to get out and do something.
