Lyle, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol and other emergency responders are at the scene of an injury crash involving a semi-truck at the K-12 public school in Lyle.

The latest reports from the scene indicate four people were injured when a semi-truck collided with a car on Highway 218, causing the truck and trailer to veer off the highway and smash into the side of the school. It appears the entire tractor on the semi-truck entered the building when the crash occurred around 9 a.m. Two of the injured were students inside the school, while the other two were in the car involved in the collision with the truck. All of the injuries were non-life threatening.

A statement on the incident that was sent to parents by the Lyle School District indicates all of the students are safe and accounted for. They've have been moved to a nearby church and the parents are being asked to pick up their children as soon as possible.

The school is located next to Highway 218 on the north end of the small Mower County town along the Minnesota-Iowa border.
