According to a post to the Waseca Police Department's Facebook page, they are currently investigating a bomb threat at the Waseca Junior/Senior High School.

The threat was reported earlier today to a school resource officer that "a written bomb threat was located in the school."

The Facebook post stated:

"Earlier today, our School Resource Officer at the Waseca Junior/Senior High School- 1717 2nd St NW- was notified of a written bomb threat which was located in the school. In partnership with school district staff and administration, an investigation was started immediately and is still continuing. The credibility of the threat is undetermined at this time.

Just moments ago, Waseca Public Schools notified parents of their plan to move students off site for the remainder of the school day. Affected families should follow those instructions.

If anyone has information about this incident, please contact us at 507-835-9720." - Waseca Police Facebook Page

KEYC-TV in Mankato has reported that the Waseca School District has also notified parents of the threat.

The Waseca Public schools posted to its Facebook Page about the bomb threat.

The post said:

Today, there was a note left on a bathroom stall at the JSHS with a specific threat against the JSHS. Students there dismissed at 12:24 and the building was evacuated. Those students who drove to school were instructed to go home. All other students were evacuated to the Central Building auditorium. Because the threat was specifically against the JSHS, it was decided to continue school in the rest of the district. If you have a student who has been evacuated to Central and wish to pick them up, please come into the main entrance by the flagpole. Students who do not reunify with a family member will either wait until their ride arrives or they will go home on the buses at the end of the day. - Waseca Public Schools
