Wednesday’s Power 96 Cool One came from Enuff Z’Nuff’s debut self-titled album. I featured the third track and second single from album, “Fly High Michelle.” This power ballad was their biggest hit, making it to No. 47 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1990.

Enuff Z’Nuff is still touring, although the closest they'll get to us is at the House of Blues in Chicago. With 12 studio albums under their belt, they've got plenty of music to chose from for their shows.

The band’s founding members were Donnie Vie and Chip Z’Nuff and I discovered them  when we received a promotional single for their first single, “New Thing,” which I listened to one morning while suffering from a hangover. It was such an upbeat, fun tune that it actually seemed to pick me up a little bit. I enjoyed the song enough that, once the hangover wore off, I went out and purchased their CD later that day. By the way, “New Thing” charted at No. 67 and was an MTV staple at the time.

Listen at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly’s Auto Parts in Faribault.
