Tuesday's Power 96 Cool One came from the English boogie-blues band Foghat. I went back to 1973 and pulled the track "What a Shame" off of their second studio release and second self-titled album, which is also known by their fans as Rock and Roll because of the album cover picture. The album charted at No. 67 on the U.S. Billboard 200, which was much better than their debut album, which only came in at No. 127. It wouldn't be until their third studio release, Energized, that the band would break into the the Top 40. The single "What a Shame" peaked at No. 82 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Join me this afternoon for the next Power 96 Cool One brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault. I'll feature another British rock band with blues in its blood but also a more jazzy, folksy sound. They've had several hits over the years but this Cool One is probably one of those tunes you haven't heard in a while. Listen at 4:35PM to find out what it is.
