The Power 96 Cool One that started off the week came from the Australian hard rock band, Kings of the Sun, and their single, "Serpentine," taken from their self-titled debut album released in 1988. The Cool One made it to No. 19 in the U.S. and No. 48 in their native homeland. Their other single from the Serpentine album was "Black Leather," which made it No. 98 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

I was introduced to the music of this band through a cassette sampler of several bands back in 1990 or 1991. Their single "Drop the Gun" was the track that was on the tape and immediately hooked me on their sound. It performed a little better for them, making it to No. 30 on the Billboard charts, and came from their second album, Full Frontal Attack.

Today's Power 96 Cool One comes your way at 4:35PM and is brought to you each weekday by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault or online at www.kellysautosalvage.com.
