My father-in-law passed away last Saturday, so in order to get things ready for his wake and funeral I was only coming in for my airshift and then going home. This didn't give me any time to cover the Cool Ones I picked for each day so here's a quick recap:

Monday I featured former Dokken guitarist George Lynch and his band Lynch Mob and their 1990 single "River of Love" from the album Wicked Sensation. I saw these guys perform at First Avenue back in the early '90s. The show rocked and I ended up hanging out with them backstage after the show.

Tuesday it was Eric Clapton and B.B. King and the title track from their 2000 Grammy award-winning album, Riding with the King.

On Wednesday it was "3 Strange Days" from the short-lived band School of Fish. The single made it to No. 12 on the U.S. Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 6 on the Alternative Songs chart.

Thursday I spotlighted the female-fronted rock band Saraya, named after Sandi Saraya. Better known for their minor hit "Love Has Taken It's Toll," I chose instead to feature the follow-up single "Back to the Bullet," which reached No. 63 on the U.S. Billboard 100.

I wrapped up the week's worth of Cool Ones on Friday with '70s rockers Slade and their track "Far Far Away." You might know Slade better as the band with the songs that Quiet Riot covered and had a little more success with. If you get a chance check them out for yourself, I'm sure you'll like what you hear.
