Power 96 Cool One Recap: The Offspring

I started off the week of Power 96 Cool Ones with "Self Esteem" from The Offspring's  third studio album, Smash, which they released on April 8, 1994. The album, released on the Epitaph label, topped out at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and had worldwide sales of over 11 million, making it the best-selling independent label album of all time and gained them international popularity. The Cool One peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs chart and No. 7 on the Mainstream Rock tracks chart. The album also had two other high charting singles released from it, "Come Out and Play," which went to No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart, and "Gotta Get Away," which came in at No. 6 on the Alternative Songs chart.
