Over the weekend I came across a song by Billy Joel that I hadn't heard in a while called "I Go To Extremes." I decided to make that single the Power 96 Cool One on Monday. Taken from his 11th studio album, Storm Front, it was the second single and peaked at No. 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Adult Contemporary chart while the record, released on October 17, 1989, topped the charts at No 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Storm Front also yielded several other charting singles for Joel including "The Downeaster Alexa," "And So It Goes," "That's Not Her Style," and "We Didn't Start the Fire," which garnered him a No. 1 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Another single from the album, "Shameless," topped out at No. 40 on the Adult Contemporary chart for Joel and was later covered by country artist Garth Brooks in 1991 and became a No. 1 hit for him on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Please join me this afternoon at 4:35PM for the next Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault.
